If you are a BSNL broadband/dataone user, sometimes you may be facing problem in connecting to internet. Like you would be viewing that you are connected to internet , but you would not be able to open certain sites like google,yahoo, etc. This problem is there for a long time, but the good news is that you can fix this bug permanently. Actually, this problem arises when DNS servers become unresponsive. The lookup takes a long time and many times result " can not connect to internet" .
Well the solution is as simple as 123 ! So, here we go...
The easiest options is to use the FREE service called OpenDNS. Just reconfigure your network to use the following DNS servers :
Preferred DNS Server : 208.67.222.222
Alternate DNS Server : 208.67.220.220
So, how to reconfigure the settings, you can see step by step instructions according to different router/computer over here : https://store.opendns.com/setup/ . You can set it up on your own computer, router, or even on DNS Server. After you reconfigure the router/computer to use the above 2 DNS addresses, problems will vanish instantly ! Other ‘freebies’ that comes with OpenDNS are phishing filters and automatic URL correction, but before that you need to register with them, which is again FREE. Even if your service provider’s DNS servers are working fine, you can still use OpenDNS just for these two special features.
And, finally the big thing is that your surfing speed will also increase, as OpenDNS will resolve the address quickly.So, now enjoy surfing and if there is any problem, just leave comment.
